January, 2019

 

  • Delivered a khutbah on Friday, Jan 4th on the topic: “Effects of Sins on Our Lives.”

 

  • Gave a speech on Friday, Jan 4th on the occasion of the Friday Family Night Gathering in the Masjid on the topic: “Some of the activities to be embarked upon at AMDA in 2019 and beyond.”

 

  • Based on my speech on Friday, Jan 4th, and the discussions following it, I sent an email to the board containing a list of agenda items that was discussed in the board’s monthly meeting held on Saturday, Jan 12th. 

 

  • Br Mohamed Abdel Sadek delivered a khatira on Saturday, Jan 12th on the topic: “Worship in Islam.”

 

  • Attended the Imams Council Meeting on Wednesday, Jan 16th at the American Moslem Society, located at 9945 Vernor Hwy, Dearborn, MI 48120

 

  • Delivered a khutbah on Friday, Jan 18th at IONA on the topic: “Concept of Du’a.”

 

  • Delivered a khatira on Saturday, Jan 19th on the topic: “Principles of Success in Light of the Seerah.”

 

  • On Sunday, Jan 20th along with board members – Br Mosharraf Hossain and Br Noor Alam, visited Islamic Ideal Center in Hamtramck to meet Hafiz Md Fakrul Islam and to listen to the recitation of a few Huffaz who could lead the tarawih prayer this year at AMDA. Sent our recommendations to the board.

 

  • Emailed to the board a list of agenda items that could be discussed in its monthly meeting in February.

 

  • Conducted a marriage counseling session of Tasnia and Mahmood on Thursday, Jan 24th prior to their Nikah to be held at AMDA on Friday, Jan 25th.

 

  • Conducted the Nikah ceremony of Tasnia and Mahmood at AMDA on Friday, Jan 25th.

 

  • Delivered a khutbah on Friday, Jan 25th on the topic: “How to Save Ourselves from Satan.”

 

  • Had a meeting on Sunday, Jan 27th with Br Kamal – the Administrative Supervisor of the IAGD Hifz Program and Br Amanullah Dada – Principal of AMDA Sunday School to explore the possibility of starting a Quran Enrichment Program at AMDA. Sent our recommendations to the board.

 

  • Visited the Michigan Islamic Institute (MII) in the city of Warren and met Mufti Abdul Wahab, the head instructor of the institute as well as of the online ‘Miftah’ Program. Invited him to be on the panel of the khateebs who give khutbas at AMDA. He kindly agreed to give a khutba at AMDA on Friday, Feb 8th. Br Noor Alam (board member) was also present in the meeting.

 

  • Arranged a meeting of members of our community who plan to go for Hajj this year with ‘Amity Travel’ on Saturday, Jan 26th.

 

  • Corresponded via email with a sister known as Sr Maria, who is interested in learning about Islam and Muslims and who wishes to come into the fold of Islam.

 

  • Sent an email to the Principal of Sunday School and to the board making some suggestions and recommendations about the ‘movie night’ program at AMDA.

 

  • Conducted the Quranic Arabic Classes every Wednesday and Thursday.

 

  • Delivered a short tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an after Salat ul Fajr every day, and after Salat ul Maghrib every Wednesday and Thursday.
