July, 2018
- Conducted a Hajj workshop for the AMDA Hajj Team on Sunday, July 1st.
- Delivered a khutba on Friday, July 6th on the topic: “Parent-Child Relationship.”
- Gave a speech at the graduation party held in the Banquet hall of IAGD on July 14th.
- Delivered a khutba on Friday, July 20th on the topic: “Obligation of Muslims to Vote.”
- Got in touch with Br Sammy of Muslim Family Services and discussed with him his proposal of placing two collection boxes in AMDA Masjid for the purpose of collecting school supply items for the less fortunate students. This was done after obtaining the board’s approval.
- Delivered a khutba on Friday, July 27th on the topic: “Obligation of Civic Engagement.”
- Gave a speech at the graduation party held in the Banquet hall of IAGD on July 28th.
- Requested board’s approval to allow distribution of flyers (outside the Masjid) after Friday prayers to the congregants on July 27th and August 4th. The approval was given. The flyer encouraged people to vote for a candidate (Br Abdul El-Sayed) as Governor of Michigan.
- Conducted the Quranic Arabic Classes every Thursday.
- Delivered a short tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an after Salat ul Fajr every day, and after Salat ul Maghrib every Wednesday and Thursday.
- Since I will be going for Hajj this year inshaAllah with the AMDA Hajj team, I will not be available to lead the Eid ul Adha prayers at AMDA. Hence I arranged for two khatibs who will be leading the prayers for Eid ul Adha at AMDA. They are: Br Dawood Walid – Executive Director at CAIR Michigan, and Dr. Ramzi Muhammad – Professor at Wayne University. They will be leading the 8:00 am and 10:00 am Jama’ah respectively.
