December, 2016
· Delivered a khutba on Friday, Dec 02 on the topic: “Fundamentals of Wisdom in Light of Surat Luqman – Part 2.”
· Seniors of the community got together on Friday, Dec 02 on occasion of the Friday Family Night Dinner Event. Along with students of AMDA Academy, they participated in an ‘Islamic Jeopardy Quiz’ conducted by Brother Obair Siddiqui.
· Delivered a khatira after Fajr prayer on Saturday, Dec 03 on the topic: “Conveying the Message of Guidance to Humanity.”
· Brother Zeeshan Rizwan drew out a six months ‘Ideal Muslim Halaqa Speakers Schedule.’ This event will take place on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month after Isha prayers. InshaAllah, there will be four speakers including myself.
· Delivered a khutba on Friday, Dec 09 on the topic: “Fundamentals of Wisdom in Light of Surat Luqman – Part 3.”
· Attended the fortnightly event, “Ideal Muslim Halaqa” after the Isha prayers on Friday, Dec 9.
· Delivered a khatira after Fajr prayer on Saturday, Dec 10 on the topic, “Self-Assessment.”
· Shaykh Omar Hussaini, a visiting scholar gave a talk in AMDA on Saturday, Dec 17th after Isha prayers on the topic, “Keeping Strong Faith in Difficult Times.” that centered around coping with Islamophobia from a religious perspective.
· An exclusive ‘sisters only’ program on Seerah conducted by Alimah Sobia Hasan was organized at AMDA on Saturday, Dec 17th from 11:00 am to 3: pm.
· A ‘Health and Wellness Fair for Kids’ event was held at AMDA on Sunday, Dec 18 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. The program was conducted by the Arab American Pharmacist’s Association (AAPA) for kids—6 to 12 years old.
· Corresponded with Ms Carol Allen Sullivan, the Executive Director of ‘Interfaith Center for Racial Justice’ (ICRJ) regarding AMDA’s agreement in principle to sponsor a table of ten for the 30th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration on Jan 16, 2017.
· Delivered a khutba on Friday, Dec 30 on the topic: “The Fortunate Ones – Part 1”
· Delivered a khatira after Fajr prayer on Saturday, Dec 31 on the topic: “Be in the world as if you are a stranger or a traveler.”
· Delivered a short tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an every day after Fajr Salah.
· Conducted the weekly Quran classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
