Joint Meeting – November 2011

Attendees are: Nurul Amin, Moin Asjad, Muhammad Azim, Ferdous Ghazi, Anwar Hussain, Moudud Rahman, Mujibus Khan, Rafique Foflonker, Habeeb Syed, Abu Ashraf.
Attendance required for quorum: Nine.
Attending number of members: Ten.
The following topics were discussed and proposals made and adopted by the members present.
1. Last monthy Meeting Minutes/Notes: Approved without modification.
2. Sunday School: The education sub-committee is still facing challenges every week. Education sub-committee will submit the plan with regards to gift plan to former Academy teachers.
3a. Eid Jamah: AMDA youths want to volunteer for the Eid and potluck but they would like to have volunteer time for their benefits. Board agreed and one of the Adult will track their time and provide it to Volunteer Coordinator for writing letter based on their service and hours spent.
3b. Current Chairperson will deliver an speech (5-10mins) on behalf of AMDA to the congregation.
4. Masjid Construction: Construction sub-committee received 3 responses for Majid construction. Construction sub-committee will call for indvidual meeting with three contractors who responded to the bids. The submitted bids are more than what was budgeted for majid construction. Board needs to agree on the cost for construction. Submitted the paper work and payment to City of Sterling Heights for Building permit.
5. Imam to cover all prayers: Proposal passed. This is a strategic decision and detail to be discussed and decided later.
