Joint Meeting – March 2011

Attending number of members: Seven
The following topics were discussed and proposals made by the members present. Since meeting did not have a quorum, attendees agreed to send proposal to members of different boards to get their input (vote) for resolution.
1. AMDA Fund Raising Dinner on April 9 – Discussed tentative agenda. Decided on shared roles and responsibilities for the event. Proposed on minimum donation amount to cover fundraising event.
2. Status of land purchase closing – The owner wants to use a professional to close. Proposed to do the closing professionally.
3. Recognition for representation at Public hearing – Proposed to recognize Sr. Lena Masri at the fund raising dinner in April.
4. Status of Annual Financial Report – Break down of expenses required further clarification.
5. AMDA Academy Administration – Br. Dulal Mostafa has informed AMDA that he intends to resign from his responsibilities of running the academy. In an effort to convince Br. Dulal to stay on, AMDA will invite Br. Dulal to the next board meeting to understand the breadth of his responsibilities and see if we can alleviate some of his concerns.
6. Friday night family event topic: Suggested changing the topic title to “Spread Islam in the World: Focus – Southeast Asia” and propose to cover in two sessions in May and June.
7. AMDA Website Administration – Br. Habeeb Sayed has been given full administrative access for the AMDA website.
8. Communication to general members – Proposed to update email addresses for the Yahoo group. The Yahoo group will provide easier way of sending emails to AMDA general members.
