Joint Meeting – January 2011

Chaired by: Br. Mujibus Khan

Attendees: Rafique Foflonker, Habeeb Syed, Mujibus Khan, Moin Asjad, Moudud Rahman, Anwar Hussain and Ferdous Ghazi.
Attendance required for quorum: Eight
Attending number of members: Seven

The following topics were discussed and proposals made by the members present. Since we did not have quorum at the meeting we need majority vote before any decision can be made. Attendees agreed to send proposal to members of different boards to get their input (vote) for resolution.

1. Payment for guest speakers at the Friday Night Family Event – A payment for guest speakers at the Friday Night Family Event.

2. Minimum donation for Friday Night Family Event – To cover the event related expenses, each family, in addition to sharing the food participating family would be requested to make a minimum donation of $10, donations in higher amount would be welcome. These donations will be purely on a honor system without any monitoring or personal solicitation.

3. Budget for new AMDA Center construction – Based on the costs related to land acquisition, taxes, site plan, architect fees, construction costs, city permits and AMDA’s past fund raising history. Attendees agreed to propose an all inclusive (including purchase price of land and taxes) construction budget of $725,000 and a construction fund raising target of $800,000.

4. Fund raising for operational costs – Brothers and Sisters present at the First and 2nd Jumma on Fridays need to make sure the the donation boxes circulate properly. No specific proposal was made.

5. Engineering Plan Status of the new AMDA Center – Board Members will meet with architect before the scheduled submission of the Site Plan to the city on January 10. Architect will be asked to prepare Perspective drawings of the building which will be shown at Friday Night Family Event on January 7.

6. Content of AMDA Annual Report to be shared with members – details of the annual report to be shared with the Board Members and general members will be discussed in the next Board Meeting.
