MARCH 4, 2017 BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Minutes

  1. Board approved the February 2017 Meeting Minutes.
  2. Br. Shafiq provided the amount collected in February. Br. Moudud reported the total expenses incurred in February and current total balance in all accounts.
  3. The budget of $288,000.00 for 2017 was approved.
  4. A budget of $300 was approved to purchase smaller size speakers. Br. Ferdous to procure.
  5. Br. Ferdous will install more cameras inside the masjid for improved security.
  6. All documents needed to file taxes for 2016 will be sent to the accountant by the end of March. Br. Ferdous will coordinate all the activities.
  7. Tentative date for Ramadan Fund raising Dinner is June 10. Alternative date is June 9 if Balkan Center is not available. Br. Ferdous to contact Balkan center to reserve the hall on June 10. Br. Zeeshan is the lead to recruit Fundraising speaker.
  8. Future events at AMDA:
  • UIF will be asked to hold their Islamic Finance seminar on May 13, 2017
  • MLFA event on April 7: AMDA will provide Biriyani and bread. Community members will bring other items.
  • RELAX seminar on April 8: Organizers will be asked to provide volunteers.
  1. Miscellaneous:
  • IT seminar by Br. Omar – approved. Br. Zeeshan is the lead.
  • AMDA will sponsor some food item for future Friday night events, discussion to continue.
  • From the remaining zakat money, $1500 each will be donated to MLFA, Muslim family services keeping some money for emergency help to needy community members.
  • AMDA accounting: Br. Moin to investigate use of Quick Book for AMDA’s accounting needs.
  • $1000 (One thousand) was approved to provide an architectural rendering of future expansion plan by Architect Chester Stampien.
  • $300 was approved for a basketball league at AMDA.
  • Participation at CAIR Dinner in April was approved for the same amount as last year ($750).
  • Open house- will be discussed in next (April) meeting.
  • Family Fair - will be discussed in next (April) meeting.
  • Text Messaging from AMDA - will be discussed in next (April) meeting.
