· Held two classes every week in the Masjid to help students learn Arabic for the purpose of understanding the Qur’an.
· Delivered Friday khutbas.
· Posted transcripts of my khutbas/tafsirs/monthly report on AMDA’s website.
· Called and coordinated the weekly meetings of the volunteers for the upcoming June 06 ‘Open House’ event.
· Along with Br. Moin Asjad and Br. Zeeshan Rizwan, received suggestions and comments from the community members regarding the proposed June 06 ‘Open House Event’ and generated discussions on the same. This was on occasion of the Friday Family Night Dinner on May 01.
· Three brochures on Islam written by me were published by AMDA
· A talk was delivered by Sheikh Moiz on occasion of the Friday Family Night Dinner on May 01. The topic of the talk was: “Recipe for a successful Life.”
· Sisters’ halaqas were held on Fridays, May 08 and 29. The guest speaker – Sister Madiha Bajwa spoke on the topics: ‘Patience and Forbearance’, and ‘Preparing for Ramadan’ respectively.
· A halaqa was held on Saturday, May 16 after Dhuhr prayers. The guest speaker - Sheikh Faqir Muhammad Khokhar spoke on the topic: ‘Advice for Ramadan’.
· Attended the Imams Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 19 to discuss with Archbishop Allen Vigneron from the Archdiocese of Detroit issues related to homosexuality, same sex marriage and how the Catholic and Muslim Communities could work together to protect our religious institutions from government laws that contradict our beliefs.
· Attended the quarterly ‘Welcoming Michigan - Sterling Heights Leadership Committee’ meeting on Friday, May 22 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Freedom Christian Assembly of God (41380 Ryan Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314).
· Excerpted content from the writings of Dr. Jamal Badawi for making posters/ display materials on topics related to the ‘theme’ of the upcoming Masjid Open House Event. .
· Invited Br. Haroon Imtiaz – a graduate of Zaytuna College (the first accredited Muslim Institution of Tertiary Education in the US) and a resident of Sterling Heights to join the list of AMDA’s khatibs. He has agreed to deliver khutbas at AMDA.
