November, 2018

 

  • Delivered a khutba on Friday, November, 2nd on the topic: “Leave that which does not concern you.”

 

  • Joined the community in the Friday Night Family Dinner Event on Friday, November, 2nd. After dinner and salat ul Isha, members of the board of trustees and the board of representatives answered questions raised by community members regarding the ‘Masjid Expansion Project’ as well as other general questions related to the Masjid and its operation.

 

  • Delivered a khatira on Saturday, November 3rd on the topic: “Concept of ‘Ibadah.”

 

  • Gave a talk on the occasion of a fundraising event for the homeless organized by IONA on Sunday, November 4th. Funds were raised to assist the Macomb County Warming Center.

 

  • As an observer, attended a talk given on ‘Islam’ by a representative of the ‘Islamic Speakers Bureau’ of ‘Islamic Networks Group’ (ING) at one of the classes of ‘world religions’ at the Macomb Community College, Center Campus on Wednesday, November 7th.

 

  • Attended a banquet on Friday, November 9th organized by the ‘Islamic House of Wisdom’ in Dearborn to honor the new President of ISNA – Dr. Sayyid M. Syeed in recognition of his efforts to advance Shia-Sunni cooperation and dialogue and other interfaith activities.  

 

  • Attended the Imams Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 14th at the Islamic Institute of Knowledge located at 6345 Schaefer Rd, Dearborn, MI 48126.

 

  • Delivered two khutbas on Friday, November, 16th: (1) “The Mercy of Allah.” and (2) “The Final Journey.”

 

  • Conducted the Salat ul Janazah for Late Sister Dr. Rubab Huq and accompanied a large number of people from the community to lay her to rest at the White Chapel Cemetery in the city of Troy.

 

  • Delivered a khatira on Saturday, November 17th on the topic: “Compassion.”

 

  • Gave a talk and made dua after Quran Khani and Salat ul Maghrib at a gathering in AMDA Masjid for late sister Dr. Rubab Huq on Sunday, November 18th

 

  • Delivered a khutba on Friday, November, 30th on the topic: “Seeking the Pleasure of Allah.”

 

  • Invited Mr. Tom Long and his son Peyton to witness the Friday Prayer Service at AMDA on Friday, November 30th. Had a friendly dialogue with them after the prayers and addressed their queries about Islam and Muslims.

 

  • Conducted the Quranic Arabic Classes every Thursday.

 

  • Delivered a short tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an after Salat ul Fajr every day, and after Salat ul Maghrib every Wednesday and Thursday.
