Monthly Report
May 2016
1. There was a sisters’ talk cum workshop on Sunday, May 1st from 4.00 to 6:00 pm. Sister Samreen Ahmed spoke on the topic: “Preparing for the Final Journey – Essential steps for burial process in light of the Qur’an and Sunnah.”
2. Quran Khani was held after Asr salah on Sunday, May 1st for the deceased father of Br. Mubeen – one of our community members. I gave a talk suited to the occasion, and made dua. The event was followed by dinner in the multipurpose room.
3. Gave a talk on the topic: ‘lessons to be learned from Al-Isra’ Wa Al-Mi’raj’ on Friday May 6th on occasion of the Friday Family Night Get-together.’
4. Shaykh Ishtiaq gave a talk after Maghrib on Friday, May 13th on ‘stories of the sahaba.’
5. Attended the ‘Michigan Muslim Capitol Day’ organized by the Michigan Muslim Community Council (MMCC) on Tuesday, May 17th at the Capitol Building in Lansing, Michigan.
6. Mufti Ahmed Rabbani and Shaykh Ashhar Ali conducted a workshop on the topic ‘Gearing up for Ramadan’ on Friday, May 20th from 7:30 to 10:30 pm.
7. A blood donation drive at AMDA in collaboration with the American Red Cross took was to take place on Saturday, May 21 from 10:00 am to 3:45 pm. Their staff arrived at AMDA, and stayed for two hours but due to shortage of nursing staff, they were constrained to postpone the event for a future suitable date.
8. Shaykh Ishtiaq gave a talk after Maghrib on Friday, May 27th on ‘stories of the sahaba.’
