· Held classes every week in the Masjid to help students learn Arabic for the purpose of understanding the Qur’an. The classes were temporarily suspended during Ramadan because of change in the schedule of usual routine.
· Drafted the ‘Overnight Stay Application Form’ for those desiring to stay overnight in the Masjid for the purpose of I’tikaf during Ramadan or for any other religious purpose.
· Invited Imam Arif Huskic—Founder and Chairman of ‘Common Word Alliance: Clergies Interfaith Organization’ to visit us on the Mosque open house day. He gladly accepted the invitation.
· Participated in the open house volunteers training session held in the Masjid on Wednesday, June 03.
· Participated in the first open house event organized by AMDA on June 06.
· Corresponded with Br. Haroon Imtiaz—a graduate from Zaytuna College, and a resident of Sterling Heights, to be one of the guest khatibs on AMDA’s khatib list. He agreed and delivered his first khutba on Friday, January 26 at AMDA.
· Participated in the Imams Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 10 at the Muslim Unity Center in Bloomfield Hills.
· A discourse on the ‘Essentials of Ramadan’ covering the legal and spiritual components of Ramadan was held on June 13. Mufti Ahmed Rabbani was the guest speaker.
· Drafted an announcement to be published on AMDA’s website regarding AMDA’s Ramadan Schedule. It included topics like Tarawih, theme of surahs to be recited by the Huffaz, fundraising, Khatmul Qur’an, Eid al-Fitr, Zakat al-Fitr, Fidya and others.
· Sisters’ halaqas during Ramadan: Wednesdays (7.00-8.00 pm); Saturdays and Sundays (7.15-8.15 pm).
· Brothers’ halaqas during Ramadan: Fridays (7.15-8.15 pm).
· During Ramadan, every night after Isha prayers, delivered a short synopsis (5-7 minutes) of the surahs to be recited in the tarawih prayers that night.
· Participated in the ‘Common Word Alliance’ (CWA) Interfaith Meeting organized at the Hamtramck Public Library in the city of Hamtramck, MI. Imam Arif Huskic presided this Meeting of clergies / religious leaders from various houses of worship.
